TEDME Update - more power for your events

TEDME Update 2023

The time has come. We have recently carried out another update and are now providing you with a number of enhancements and improvements to TEDME. We hope that the new functions will enhance your events, surveys, polls and elections even more. Of course, we have also worked on improving the ease of use for you.

You can look forward to the following extensions:

  • New chart type: Winner chart
  • Multiple-choice question type: number of answers can be set
  • Question type Consent question
  • Votes with additional proposals
  • Diagrams and number formats
  • New functions for authenticated elections and resolutions
  • More comprehensive evaluation/feedback forms
  • Single sign-on with MS Azure
  • Maximum customisation for HTML professionals
  • Customised design and optional dark mode
  • Outlook

In addition, we have improved TEDME for you in numerous areas and constantly ensure that the software is always up to date and reliable.

Chart type Winner staircase

Do you want to select the winners of a competition? Whether as part of an event or through a classic survey - the new "Winner's Staircase" results display is perfect for this.

You can decide whether you want to display all the places of the participants or just the top three on the winners' podium. The advantage of this is that potential losers are less likely to be disappointed or put on show. You can also create a legend for this type of result.

This is what a winner's podium of the top three looks like:

Places 4 to 8 are optionally not displayed by name

Multiple choice - you determine the number of answers

You can now specify how many answers your participants can give. You can specify the minimum and maximum number. In this example, your participants must enter at least two answers, but no more than five.

Approval question - how much someone agrees or disagrees

With this question type, you can determine the level of agreement or disagreement. This captures the answer your participant gives in a much more granular way.

Zustimmungsfrage TEDME

A slider from -100 % for absolute rejection to +100 % for absolute approval gives a very differentiated insight into the opinion on the topic you have asked about.

Voting plus alternative proposals by the participants

For single choice, multiple choice and multiple choice questions, you can optionally allow participants to enter their own alternatives in addition to the predefined answer options. These are displayed in a list below the chart in addition to the evaluation.
If alternative proposals are named more than once, e.g. in the case of a nomination for a team that was not previously listed among the candidates, this alternative is listed with the number of times it was named. This assumes that the additional name proposed has been spelt identically. For example, if three participants have suggested "Team Tokyo" as an alternative, then "Team Tokyo: 3" is listed as an alternative.

Diagrams and number formats

In some analyses of your surveys and polls, you now have two further options for the combined display of absolute values and percentage values, as shown here in the example for single choice questions.

IMPROVED: extended invitation editor

This makes your invitations even easier. The new editor for simple formatting of your e-mail invitations with a super easy-to-use editor. You can insert both the PIN and the names of the participants as placeholders and thus send your invitation email in an even more personalised way. You can also use the editor to easily format the text yourself.

NEW: New question types

New question types are available especially for elective events:

  • Resolution
  • Personal choice
  • Multi-person dialling

These question types supplement the panellised election questions already available specifically for election events. Of course, you can also continue to use all existing TEDME question types at your election event. This means, for example, that you can create resolutions as before using single choice questions or use multiple choice questions for personal elections.

For the question type "Resolution", the answer options yes/no/hold are automatically available.

NEW: AAutomatic determination of majorities

With the new voting question types, you can automatically display the partial name behaviour during voting.
You can also automatically display defined majorities for resolutions, e.g. qualified majorities or absolute majorities.
If you want to determine the absolute majority of votes, you can decide whether all voting rights attending the meeting should be taken into account as the basis for the calculation, or whether your articles of association stipulate that all invited voting rights must be taken into account, regardless of actual attendance.

Mehrheiten bei Wahlen - TEDME

In personal elections, one person can be elected from a list. As the organiser, you can specify whether abstentions are permitted or not. This is relevant for calculating the simple or qualified majority of votes.

IMPROVED: Display of majorities

When the vote is analysed, a detailed view appears below the result. This provides information about the voting behaviour. In other words, it shows the data on participation in this vote, votes not cast, abstentions and valid votes.

The following figure shows the absolute majority calculation in relation to the voting rights participating in the meeting.

UMFANGREICHER: Evaluation and feedback forms

As we have noticed that many of our customers frequently use TEDME for surveys over a longer period of time, we have expanded and improved the survey module.
For you this means

  • The layout of the sheet is now clearer.
  • The elements are divided into headings, questions, texts, graphics and personalised input fields.
  • You can now also insert text and/or graphics.
  • A preview function is now also available.

The following illustration shows you how to create or edit the contents of a survey questionnaire.

Further new functions for the evaluation and feedback forms:

Additional question type: Consent question in the evaluation forms
You can now also access the consent question in the longer surveys.

Mandatory fields in the survey form
You can mark questions and personal input fields as mandatory fields. When the participant submits the form, mandatory fields that have not been completed are checked. These are then made visible by scrolling, pop-up and highlighting

Segmentation: successive pop-up of further question blocks
You can now divide the questionnaire into question blocks so that you don't "overwhelm" your participants with particularly long questionnaires. For example, if you specify that only 5 questions should ever appear, the next 5 questions will only appear for the participant after clicking on the "Next" button.

Formatted PDF report of the evaluation with header data
You can now also export your surveys as a PDF report - in addition to the existing XLS export. This means you can continue to work with the XLS exports or use the attractive report you have already created with the header data and integrated charts.

Outlook - coming soon

Conditional 2-step questions
For example, if option A is selected, a follow-up question is asked depending on this.

Single sign-on with Microsoft Azure
If the administrator of your organisation has activated the Azure AD SSO login for users and linked the corresponding email address, you can simply log in to TEDME via Microsoft with one click.

Maximum customisation for HTML professionals
For maximum customisation of the appearance of your surveys and polls, the CSS data can now alternatively be entered directly inline. This was already possible before, but only via an external link.
